MAJOR
RULE CHANGES FOR 2003-2004
This is only a list of changes. Un-changed rules are listed below.
All information should be used as a guide only. Please contact the
appropriate state Wildlife and Fisheries Department for final authority.

- If current legislation becomes law, the cost of a 10-Day Non-resident
Hunting License will increase from $26.50 to $46.50.
- The cost of a Turkey Permit for non-residents will increase
from $5.00 to $100.00.
- Migratory game bird (ducks, doves, etc.) and crow regulations
are not covered on this page because federal guidelines for taking
and possessing these species were not finalized at the time of
this posting. Migratory bird seasons, bag limits and methods of
taking will be summarized in two separate publications entitled:
1. Migratory Bird Regulations for Dove, Snipe, Woodcock,
Rail, Moorhen, Crow and Early Duck Seasons (available in
mid-September)
2. Migratory Game Bird Regulations for Waterfowl and Coot
Seasons (available in mid-October).

RESIDENT GAME BIRDS & MAMMALS AND MIGRATORY GAME BIRDS:
|
- Resident game birds are: quail and wild turkeys.
- Resident game mammals are: deer, gray squirrels, wild hogs
(in designated areas) and rabbits.
- Migratory game birds are: ducks, geese, common moorhen, coots,
snipe, rails, woodcock, mourning doves and white-winged doves.
- NOTE: The Florida black bear, fox squirrel and Florida panther
are protected species and may not be taken or pursued.

- Florida Deer Possession limit is four;
Daily bag as follows:
- During general gun (antlered deer), muzzleloading gun, and archery
/ muzzleloading gun seasons, Two antlered deer is the bag
limit.
- During antlerless deer season,
One antlered deer and one antlerless deer, or two antlered
deer.
- During archery season,
Two antlered deer, two antlerless deer, or one antlered
and one antlerless deer.
- NOTE: Regardless of which season, what sex, or how many permits,
harvesting more than two deer in a single day is prohibited.

wildlife management zones for private lands consist of the following
counties or parts of counties:

Management Zone
Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson,
Jefferson (south of U.S. 27, west of S.R. 59 and north of U.S. 98),
Liberty, Leon (except that portion north of U.S. 27 and east of State
Road 155), Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, Washington and Wakulla (except
that portion south of U.S. 98 and east of the St. Marks River).

Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, DeSoto
(north of S.R. 70), Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hardee,
